About My Approach
At Obey Coaching, healing is more than a goal—it’s a process rooted in culture, connection, and courage.
As Nehiyaw Iskwew (cree woman) who’s walked the path from aging out of foster care to Indigenous life coach, I bring lived experience, compassion, and strength to every session. My approach is relational, not clinical, and always centered on the young person’s voice, spirit, and story.
What Guides My Coaching:
Culturally Grounded: I weave Indigenous teachings, values, and identity into every step. Whether it’s using Medicine Wheel reflections, offering traditional stories, or holding space for cultural reconnection, my coaching honours where you come from.
Trauma-Informed & Youth-Specific:
I meet youth where they’re at—with zero judgment. My work is rooted in bringing awareness how trauma shows up in everyday life, and how safety, routine, and reflection can begin to break cycles. Drawing light to co-dependency, creating healthy boundaries, and being a positive reinforcement in each life to build confidence and promote self-love.
Empowerment-Focused: I don’t “fix” anyone—I guide them to remember their power. Together, we build confidence, set boundaries, and shift self-talk through tools like affirmations, breath work, creative expression, and personal mantras. Real Talk, Real Tools!
I speak from experience and keep it real. Whether we’re talking about anxiety, foster care, body image, or goals, every session includes practical tools youth can actually use in their everyday lives.
What Youth Can Expect:
-
Safe and confidential coaching space
-
Culturally respectful guidance
-
Tools to build emotional strength and decision-making
-
A chance to laugh, cry, heal, and grow—without shame
Your path. Your pace. Your power.
